Retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Mariama Owusu, has made a personal donation of books to the Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to support the faculty’s library and enrich the learning experience of students.

Receiving the donation, Acting Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Chris Adomako-Kwakye thanked her warmly. “We are grateful for your generosity. Books basically help us to gain knowledge, expand our perspective, and understand what’s happening around us. I believe our students will find this very useful. The faculty remains grateful.”

In response, Justice Mariama Owusu shared her motivation. “I felt the need to come back home and support my own,” she said. “Even though we’re in a computer age, I’m sure there are still people who need to read books before exams. I’m happy to support the faculty in my small way, especially to help those who may not have laptops.”

Dr. Thaddeus Nkum Manu, Head of Department of Private Law added with appreciation, “You’ve solved some of our problems. In future, we’ll call on you not just for advice but also to share your wisdom and maybe even join some of our conversations.”
The Vice Dean, Dr. (Mrs.) Renee Morhe also expressed excitement about the donation. “When I look at the display, I know these are books we really need. They’re current, and as Oliver Twist said, we’ll want more, and we’re ready to receive.”
Assistant Librarian, Ms. Rita Akotey, assured that the books would be fully utilized to benefit students and faculty members alike.
